There is an international airport in Sohag Governorate as well that offer regular taxis to Sohag city which will cost you somewhere around 150 LE.

Travellers can also take train service through Egyptian National Railways that will drop them to Sohag Railway station, from there a taxi can be hired to reach the main Sohag city, however train travels in Egypt can be rather frustrating and erratic due to their ever changing schedules.

• Red Monastery: Situated at an approximate distance of 5km from the White Monastery, the Red Monastery is another masterpiece of Egyptian architecture that tourist can explore when in Sohag. The monastery dates back to the 4th century and is Coptic in nature just like the White Monastery.
