It’s one of the best resorts i have ever visited. I will rate it the best in terms of its location, service, food, cleanliness etc. Beautifully located by the lake. All cottages are tastefully designed and located around a vast area. The are is so big that they offer you to use the e-cars to move around the resort. The pool is wonderfully set together with the restaurant. Lake side seating areas, the tree house, the swings, etc, made our visit memorable one. Highly recommended for any travellers.

Although the hotel is very good, my reservation was not received at the hotel. Not sure if this was the problem with makemytrip or the hotel. I had to wait in the lobby for more than an hour. Hotel finally gave a room but issue was resolved past midnight. Mm t kept calling all night. I had to explain the issue to every new person. Not a good experience after paying $500 a night!

Food service very bad and sky-high rates very seriously, people staying there with some stands no doubt,keeping them in isolated 5-star resort, leaving them no option but to spend is very bad, commercial in serving food. I never had this experience paying for rice alone.

The hotel is just right next to the Amaya lake and not very far from Sigiriya and Golden and Rock Temple. The hotel staff are so friendly and hospitable. I had a nice walk along with the lakeside, enjoyed Ayurvedic oil massage and swimming pool. A good day !!

Amazing amenities and facilities inside the premises. Once you are in, you wouldn't want to venture out. Do try out the shacks placed near the lake and also the well maintained swimming pool. The rooms were neat and conformable and the bathrooms were spacious and clean. Highly recommended, particularly for family and couples. A true value for money.

We stayed at Amaya Lake for three days. We went as a couple and had a driver to take us around when needed. The resort is at a beautiful location beside a lake and we couldn't ask for more. The hotel is a bit far from the city and if you don't have a driver on call it's difficult to get around. Food is costly at the hotel so we chose to ask our driver to take us to Dambulla town for lunch and dinner. 250 used for the room for 3 days and 200 used for the driver. Worth it.

Amaya Lake Resort at Dambulla was the first stop on our 10-day Sri Lanka trip and is an ideal place to spend a lazy couple of days. The property is huge and well maintained. Finally understood the pleasure of walking here. There is plenty of greenery and walking up to the chirping of forest birds is such a joy. You could spend hours taking a walk at the lakefront. The rooms are spacious and equipped with modern amenities. The swimming pool is huge and great place to laze around with a drink. For all its beauty, the service and veg food left me disappointed. The breakfast spread was extensive (but repetitive) and there were a couple of live counters. Since there was hardly any veg food at the restaurant we opted to go to he Signature Amaya restaurant. The ambiance is great, and we were looking forward to a great evening. Ordered a gnocchi which was hard and pizza which was on a very thick base and overloaded with tomato sauce. While I could excuse the poor gnocchi, the poor quality pizza just cannot be explained in a restaurant which boasts an international clientele. The staff and chef were receptive to our feedback and promised to make us something nice the next day. We accepted the invite which turned out to be our biggest mistake. From the time we sat, there was no one to attend us. My wife had to go twice to ask for water. The Sri Lankan curry they prepared was obnoxious (which I can confidently say after spending 10 days in Sri Lanka). They offered us the dinner for free which we refused but to their credit, they did not present the bill. The restaurant staff completely spoiled our evening. The hotel needs to improve its veg selection and train their staff well. All in all it is a wonderful property and good place to relax.
